The Voice of Kat Clark
Hello
When I started talking, my family always knew I would be someone who used my voice to make money, but no one knew how. Singing wasn't it, poetry reading didn't go over well, public speaking would work or run for office (too much of an advocate for the underdog), and comedy has promise; I only tried it once, but the voiceover stuck. My day job is as an Executive Director for a non-profit (Vision Resource Center) that serves the blind and visually impaired community. My name by day is Terri Thomas. How did I become Kat Clark, My mom's name was Kathleen (Kat) and my dad's name was Clarkston (Clark) so when I thought of a name for myself it had to be Kat Clark. What a way to pay homage to my motivations. I started my voiceover career in 2008 under the guidance of Susan Berkley and the Great Voice Company. After many training classes and demos, I landed my first commercial with White Castle Hamburgers and then a promotional spot for the Great Voice Company. M y dad became ill (dementia), and I became his caregiver, so I had to put my voiceover career on hold. During my dad's illness I wanted to get back into voiceover because it was my escape from caregiving my dad and watching the dementia take over. Voiceover allowed me to "be" whoever I playing the part of, and I was darn good at it. Now that I have more time on my hands and living in the last years of my life, I want to LIVE to the fullest and just GO FOR IT, leaving no stone unturned!! My mind never gave up on becoming a successful voiceover artist or narrator. I escape in the Art of Voice; it is a place where I elude great, positive energy and passion. I am BACK, and READY to start working with you on any projects that fit my unique but ear-catching voice.
